Membership of the Southwark Civic Association enables local organisations and people to participate in the rekindling of civic pride in Southwark. Organisations and individuals can meet like minded organisations who recognise the benefits of partnership with the local authority.

The Council regards this as an important initiative and has actively promoted the Civic Associations activities and development within the local community.

Those organisations directly involved benefit by being seen as active leaders within the local community.

The Council is working in partnership on a number of initiatives to promote the borough on both a local and cultural level. Organisations involved in the Civic Association will benefit from this good publicity.

The system of Civic Awards aims to increase the local community’s feeling of pride by being a resident of the borough. This along with other activities progressed by the Council, will hope to have a knock on effect of increasing business success, educational achievement and reductions in crime

Membership cost from £15.00 for individuals and £30.00 for local amenity groups.
